dance instruction

Group classes

Group class lessons are (mostly) for students who mainly want to have fun while learning the dances being taught in that specific group. These lessons are not as detailed in instruction as with private lessons and there is no ‘hands-on’ guidance for the student. The teaching tempo of such a class is determined by the ‘average’ student(s) in that specific class.

Group classes are much more affordable than private lessons. Join multi-weekly classes for discount (An all-studio pass is available at a 15% premium).

  • No partner required, but always a good idea! Both ‘Singles’ and ‘Couples’ are welcome.
  • No previous dance experience required (ideal for beginners, but also for advanced dancers – different level dancers (newbies to advanced) have different class times, or separate instructors in the same class).
  • Easy wearing clothes with smooth-soled (slippery) shoes.

Competitive Technique & Performance Classes

Essential classes for the more serious dancer who needs to have a better understanding of their bodies and all the various dance techniques, in order to take their dancing to higher levels. Especially designed for competitive and show dancers, but open to all who are interested!

By obtaining the knowledge, insight and understanding of these concepts, you will be able to apply it in and through your body (your ‘instrument’) and truly start to experience the magic of dancing.

Dancing is not only about the steps, but rather about natural, uncomplicated, effortless, controlled and beautiful movement of your entire body, as well as the correct expression of your feelings and emotions to inspiring music that enhances the character of each dance.

Any good dancer is acquainted with, understands and can use their body properly and correctly. Getting a better understanding of your body is key to better movement in general – whether you are a dancer, a mom carrying a small baby, a rugby player or a beauty and fitness model.

In the end, as with all things, it is not what you do, but rather the way in which you do it that matters.

Private lesson students often choose to make dancing their serious sport (or activity) and could choose to enter various kinds of competitions and participate in a variety of dance events.

Private lessons are more for the student who wants to obtain a certain level of mastery with some, or even plenty of, in-depth understanding of all aspects of any/all dance styles that they may choose to study. Be sure of it that these lessons are not only focused, but also fun-filled and exciting!

These classes are tailored for the individual student or spesific couple and the tempo of the class is that of the students’/couples’ personal pace and progress. Improvement and understanding by private lesson students are typically many times that of any group class student. The styling, technique, ‘class’ and confident execution of a dance performed on any kind of dance floor by a student or couple attending private lessons, is unmistakably evident!
